[TRANS] 090804 TVXQ’s Three Members’ Lawyer Speaks Out “We are enraged that SM claims they gave 11 billion Won to TVXQ

Posted on: March 22, 2011

The nation’s top idol group TVXQ’s three members (Xiah Junsu, YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun)’s lawsuit against SM Entertainment has become a battle of conflicting statements where we’ll just have to wait and see to find out what the truth is. The three members’ representative lawyer Lim Sanghyuk of Sejong stated, “Regarding the statement refuting our points SM released on the 3rd, we aren’t sure if we should even bother to put up our own rebuttal,” and “SM is trying to make themselves look better by confusing the public with ’11 billion won in cash alone and luxury foreign cars’ but the three members are very angry and confused by this statement.”

Lawyer Lim said, “If you divide 11 billion Won by the number of years TVXQ has been active and the number of members there are in the group, you’ll find that they’ve been paying each member 200 million Won per year,” and “Who’s going to accept the fact that last year’s most popular singers only earned 200 million Won that year?” He also said, “The members would like to know the exact details of where they earned that money,” and “The cosmetic company SM keeps dragging into this case has nothing to do with TVXQ as a group as is a mere personal investment made by the three members.” Lawyer Lim stated, “When I had a phone conversation with the three, they said things like, ‘It feels like there the Great Wall of China between us and SM, and we’ve crossed a bridge that doesn’t allow us to turn back,'” and also said, “Our official rebuttal will be presented at court after the law firm and the three members confer.”

Before this, on the afternoon of the 3rd, SM released an official statement that, “TVXQ, till now (July 2009), have earned 11 billion Won and have received luxury foreign cars as bonuses that have nothing to do with the contract,” and “It is unfair to focus only on their album sales when they participate in CFs, events and other performances that all have different income divisions.” Regarding the ‘slave contract,’ SM stated that, “We have revised the contract five times with the members,” and “Of those five times, we revised the contract twice with the help and approval of the Fair Trade Committee.”

Recent hearings from SME has been revealed that money they do get is paid of as “expenses” down to the snack and cold medicine. And still hasn’t anyone ever question how SME knows they gave 11 billion won to DBSK but can’t provide the accounts to such claims?
